How to get the LinkedIn Top Voice Badge FAST
and by FAST I mean within 2 days!
There is a rumor that you have to contribute to AT LEAST 70-80 articles and get a “decent” number of likes to your LinkedIn Contributions.
The RUMOR is… yep.
Just a rumor.
I got the top voice badge on LinkedIn within just two days after having contributed to two (YES, 2!) articles and gotten a handful of likes to my contributions.
But there are a couple of reasons why contributing to the LinkedIn articles matters.
And I’ve recorded a short training on how you can get it too because it's actually less complicated than you might think.

What is the Top Voice Badge?
The top voice badge is the small yellowish badge you see highlighted on some people’s profiles, it’s located right underneath your tagline or your one-line moneymaker.
The badge indicates that you are within the top 5 percent of people commenting on LinkedIn articles.
Continue to read, (or click here for the Youtube video) and I will show you exactly how to do it too, and increase your probability of getting the top badge.
It took me just two days, so it's not as difficult as it might seem.
Why You Want the Top Voice Badge
There are two main reasons why you want to have this badge.
Firstly, it gives you credibility and authority.
When someone visits your profile and sees the badge, they'll think, "This person really knows their stuff!" which you obviously do, as you’ll be commenting on topics you are knowledgeable about.
Secondly, LinkedIn has introduced new metrics and analytics.
Go to your analytics and check the weekly sharing tracker.
Contributions form part of that tracker, and your visibility might be impacted if you don't contribute, thereby reducing the number of people who see and engage with your posts.
What Metrics to Focus On
The metrics counted currently are:
how often you post,
your comments, and
your contributions.
It doesn't assess the quality but counts the number of posts, comments, and contributions.
So, even writing a simple "Great post!” or “Well done!" counts, although I advise against spending time on those kinds of comments.
You want to build authority even in the comment field.
This is why you should consider adding contributions to LinkedIn articles, as they count toward your visibility.
How to Add Contributions
To get the badge, you need to add contributions to LinkedIn articles.
Click on the option to add a contribution, which takes you to a list of collaborative articles.
Choose articles that are not overly crowded, as this will increase your chances of standing out and getting the badge sooner.
Also, picking topics related to your niche is crucial, as it ensures relevance to your audience.
For example, I chose to contribute to articles on small business management. These articles aren't updated every day, so you might need to look for different topics frequently.
Scan the titles to find ones you can provide substantial knowledge about and feel free to add your perspective to multiple questions within the article.
Promoting Your Contributions
After contributing, it’s important to promote your posts. Share a short statement on your profile with the link to your contribution, encouraging your connections to check it out.
Although the reach might be low initially (you can see only 431 impressions on this post), it will still collect comments and likes, thereby helping you get the badge faster.
That's actually it! Piece of cake!
Ensure you follow these steps: pick a topic, add contributions, and share the link with your network to see what happens.
