How to Transform Your Business

by Implementing the Power of One Strategy

The reason many struggle to gain traction in their business is because they try to do it all and serve everyone.

And I understand where the thought comes from; in THEORY you could serve and help anyone and everyone - but THE FACT is that THEY don’t want that.

They want their problem to be solved by THE SPECIALIST.

You will achieve so much more if you focused on just ONE

I get it – making this shift can feel intimidating, especially if that would mean that you’ll be pivoting to a different niche or ideal client.

I’ve been there myself recently.

However, when you focus on one client and one problem, you get to build and optimize your offers, and sales funnels in a way that reveals insights and opportunities you might otherwise miss.

Last year, I had my light bulb moment.

After chasing scaling for over two years, I realized I hadn't given my services or products a real chance to scale.

Here’s what had happened instead:

  • I identified a problem my clients were facing,

  • I designed an offer and validated it by enrolling paying clients,

  • I helped a few clients with that specific problem, and then…

  • I moved on to the next product.

You see, instead of rinsing and repeating, working on my messaging, and improving the product, I started all over again… and OMG… it was EXHAUSTING!

Does it sound familiar?

In hindsight, I realize I was struggling to identify the key problem I wanted to solve for my audience and was distracted by the next shiny object.

At the beginning of this year, I responded to requests from a few people and started helping my audience with their LinkedIn strategies.

This was way outside my comfort zone, and I experienced imposter syndrome, comparing myself to the big gurus on LinkedIn, and the turning point came when a business buddy pointed out:

"Have you ever thought about that your audience doesn’t want to learn from the gurus. They want to learn from you."

I decided to double down on making the LinkedIn Clarity Masterclass my main funnel to attract my ideal clients.

And, by hosting the Masterclass not only once, but repeating the same event over and over again, I get to build it out and improve it EVERY SINGLE TIME I run it.

Focusing on ONE has since led to:

  • ONE Masterclass: with in total 1,552 attendees,

  • ONE Service: my 6-week LinkedIn Breakthrough Program, with 26 clients who fit the description of my:

  • ONE Ideal Client: Coaches, Course Creators, and Service Providers ready to leverage LinkedIn to build their business and attract leads and clients organically

Did I stay the course of only focusing on ONE this spring you may ask?

I still faced distractions, had some great ideas that I could follow-up on, but I decided to stick to the Power of One.

Well… with two exceptions…

I published a smaller ticket offer (a DIY course I called Grow Your LinkedIn Audience) to support those not yet ready for LinkedIn Breakthrough, and I also enrolled four new clients into my 6-month Designed To Sell Program.

And although these offers have different VEHICLES, they all focus on serving my IDEAL CLIENT.

The VEHICLE

The vehicle isn't any specific program, it’s not your coaching services, it’s not you; it's THE METHOD (e.g. platform, or framework) with which your clients will achieve their goals.

The Vehicle - the Method that will take your client from where they are now (A) to where they want to be (B)

For example, I help my clients achieve their goals through implementing two different vehicles:

  • for LinkedIn Breakthrough and Grow Your LinkedIn Audience, the vehicle is LinkedIn; and

LinkedIn is the best, easiest to use and fastest online platform to grow your audience organically, so you can attract more leads and get more clients.

    The Vehicle = LinkedIn

Desired Goal = more leads and clients

  • for Designed To Sell, the vehicle is a scalable, digital product.

Having a scalable, digital product in your Business Model is the only way to achieve true Freedom, where you can help more people, and make more money, while working less.

The Vehicle = A scalable, digital product

Desired Goal = Freedom, help more people, and make more money, while working less

THE POWER OF ONE

If you haven't yet discovered the POWER OF ONE, here’s what I suggest:

Steps to Focus on One Ideal Client, and One Offer

  1. Listen to Your Audience: Pay close attention to what your audience is saying. What are their pain points? What solutions are they seeking? This is where your journey begins.

  2. Reflect on Your Passion: Once you’ve identified potential needs, ask yourself if these are areas you’re passionate about. Do these problems energize you? Are they within your zone of genius? It’s crucial that your focus not only serves your clients but also fuels your enthusiasm.

  3. Avoid Distractions: Be honest with yourself. Are these focus areas genuinely aligned with your strengths and interests, or are they distractions that keep you in your comfort zone? Sometimes, the allure of staying comfortable can hold us back from real growth.

  4. Validate Your Idea: Before diving in, validate your focus area by engaging directly with your audience. Here’s how:

    • Ask Your Audience: Use your Social Media platforms to gauge interest. Pose questions and simple surveys or polls to understand if there’s a genuine demand for what you’re considering (CLICK HERE to get to a prior blog post on using Social Media to validate your ideas).

    • Seek Detailed Feedback: When you get responses, reach out for deeper insights. Have conversations to uncover their specific challenges and desires. This will help you fine-tune your offer and ensure it’s truly addressing their needs.

  5. Create Targeted Messaging: Use the insights gathered to craft compelling messaging that speaks directly to your ideal client’s pain points and aspirations. This messaging will form the foundation of your marketing efforts and ensure you’re resonating with the right audience.

  6. Define Your Vehicle: Identify the best, fastest, and most effective way to help your clients reach their goals. This method will be the core of your service.

Becoming the Person of One

By narrowing your focus, you simplify everything!

You’ll be crystal clear about what you’re sharing and how you’re helping.

This clarity will position you as the go-to expert, the one and only person your prospects will turn to when they are ready to solve their problem.

My Journey with LinkedIn Clarity

Here’s how I applied these steps in my own business:

When I considered offering LinkedIn training, I wasn’t sure if there was enough interest. So, I asked my audience on LinkedIn and Facebook if they’d be interested in a LinkedIn Clarity training.

The responses I received were promising, so I reached out to those who expressed interest to dive deeper into their specific challenges.

Based on their feedback, I crafted the messaging for my LinkedIn Clarity Masterclass. This approach ensured that my offer was tailored to my audience’s needs and that I was addressing real, pressing problems.

By following this process, you can ensure your focus is not only strategic but also deeply aligned with both your passion and your audience’s needs.

Remember, the goal is to create a meaningful impact by serving your ideal clients in the best way possible.

So, take the plunge, embrace the power of ONE, and watch your business thrive!
